We are so glad Nate gets to stay two more days. He will return to Houston Saturday morning early. Larry is continuing to decline. He doesn't really rouse now. Dr. Emmie Noblock and the Hospice nurse came today. They are wonderful people. Their goal is to help keep Larry out of pain (or as close as they can get). They went up again on the dilaudid and added more fentinyl patches. He seems to be resting more peacefully. Grimacing only occasionally. We are so going to miss him (we already do), but we pray for his release. We know he is going to not just a better place but a beautiful, happy place without pain.
I always knew he was a great person and was honored to have such a great man, but I didn't realize how many lives he has touched. Your outpouring of love and kindness is overwhelming. His giant heart and gentle spirit is leaving its mark. Thank You!

  1. I will always remember the fun times we had in the Bishopric. Bishop Wilde was a joy and an inspiration to serve with. I learned more about loving others and giving to others from Larry than anyone I know. He is my hero.

  3. Leesa,
The phrases "Return with Honor" & "Trailing Clouds of Glory" come to mind when I think of your dear husband. He has been a shining example to so very many. Our lives are sweeter because of the Wilde Family. I pray that love and peace surround all of you.
    Love,

  4. Leesa, one day in about 1980, Larry and I were working for the Thomas's at the Bar T Five and he walked into the office and said "Sharon, I met the most beautiful girl in the world, and I am going to marry her." I said "Larry if she says yes she will be the luckiest girl in the world." I guess you know how it turned out. Bless you for making him so happy. He is such a special spirit and we will all miss his presence. We pray for his release and peace for you and the wonderful Wilde family. Love, Sharon

  5. Lesa,

I don't know how you find the strength to write such up beat and positive words, but I do appreciate them. I am amazed at your will and know why Larry fell in love with you. I pray for his release as well and imagine the welcome that he will receive!! My prayers for you and the rest of your family.

  7. When I hear of loss, my own comes back. There is nothing ridiculous about grief. It never really goes away. It lives an ever changing life it its own within mine. Death leaves us with a perspective that we should be grateful for...and that is, any moment could be our last. It's important that these great loses force us to live with a quieter sense of appreciation and acceptance....that they boost us up to our higher self. Larry is all about goodness, being kind and helpful....he teaches us that if we look wisely, if we're attentive and careful, considerate and open hearted, honest and unafraid...it might be possible to find even more of him than we ever had. I don't know many people in my life that I feel that way about. I told Larry awhile back that, if our world was full of people like him...what a perfect place it would be. He has given of himself with such great honesty and humility. Truly, those that know Larry have been blessed by his presence in their lives. I have sent this to many people I love during times like this...."And he will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you shine like the sun and....hold you gently in the palm of his hands." Hold on to times spent together and wonderful, wonderful memories. Love to you all. I must leave for NYC tomorrow and felt it necessary to send my thoughts! Prayers continue. Carla.

  8. Leese and Family: Today's church meetings were so powerfully full of the spirit, and I know that all of us had you and your family in our hearts and minds, and that made the spirit even more close. It's wonderful that we won't have to worry about Larry, because of the knowledge that we have. But we will all have a hole in our hearts where his wonderful smile and gentle warmth were. You will continue to fill that void for so many, I know, but we pray that the Lord will bless and strengthen you as you have to be separated for a time from him. What a great pair you are. Great to know that will continue....
Our prayers are with you, but we would love to help with anything else you might need also. We are always here for anything you need. Love, Jim and Narda Wilcox

  9. Dear Leesa,

Many friends have kept me informed of what's happened and your blog has been an amazing gift of love as well. You have been in my prayers and many times I'm been prompted to put your family's name in the Temple. Love given and received takes no note of time and distance, does it? Your family has been a great comfort and inspiration to me so many times, and will continue to do so. Don't we wish we might have seen the reunion when Larry and Fernie embraced again?

Love and my prayers for your comfort and strength.
